Kindermusik Educator Statement of
Belief and Commitment
As a licenced Kindermusik educator, I
believe that music has the power to
illuminate and enhance lives, to foster
a sense of community and to tap the
unique gifts that each child offers to
the world. And I believe that every
child deserves the opportunity to know,
enjoy and grow with music.
I am proud of my capability to make the
world around me a richer place by
sharing my love and understanding of
music, and I dedicate my abilities as an
educator to bringing music into the
lives of
children in a positive, supportive and
encouraging way. I recognise that music
for children is not about perfection but
about possibilities. |
|
In my work as a Kindermusik educator, I
am committed to supporting all of my
Kindermusik colleagues, those in my
local community and around the world. I
understand that today only one child in
400 enjoys the benefits of Kindermusik,
and I recognise and support the right of
every licenced Kindermusik educator to
reach as many children with music as
possible. I will foster a spirit of
mutual encouragement and boundless
opportunity among my colleagues and will
always let the best interests of the
child guide my actions and decisions.
I will uphold the values and purpose of
the Kindermusik curricula in my
teaching. I will honour and abide by the
policies that predicate my privileges as
a Kindermusik educator, and I announce
my intolerance for those who abuse this
trust and dishonour the integrity of the
Kindermusik mission.
I understand that Kindermusik curricula
provide the structure necessary to shape
a rich pedagogical and musical
experience but also empower me to
respond with flexibility and sensitivity
in my classroom to honour the unique
needs and individuality of every child.
I believe in the quality of Kindermusik
music education materials and share the
belief that these materials are
necessary for the child's optimal
learning. Every child who experiences
Kindermusik through my programme will
enjoy the benefits of his or her own
home materials.
And finally, at the heart of my work as
a Kindermusik educator, I will
demonstrate the Kindermusik conviction
that the parent is a child's most
important teacher, and the home is the
most important place for a child's
learning to take root and grow. I will
guide families in bringing music into
their children's lives believing that
every child is gifted and every child is
musical. |
